CELEBRATE THE NUN
In 1985 H.P. Baxxter (born Hans-Peter Geerdes, 16th March 1966 in Leer, Germany) successfully passed his leaving exam and started his economy studies. Through the advertisement he met Rick J. Jordan (born Hendrik Stedler, 1st January 1968 in Hannover, Germany) and found the band Celebrate The Nun together at the end of 1986. Together with H.P.'s sister Britt Maxime and Slin Tompson they released the single Ordinary Town in 1989, published by the brand new label Westside Music and sub-label 8ighty-8ight. In the following years they played electronic music characteristic for 80's. That's how the characteristic Celebrate The Nun style was born. In 1989 they released their debut album Meanwhile and singles Ordinary Town, Will You Be There and She's A Secretary. All of these single were successful enough to release the album also in America, published by Enigma label. Singles Will You Be There (no. 6 in the German charts) and She's A Secretary (no. 11 in the German charts) got even to the American Billboard Dance Charts. In 1990 Slin Tompson left the band to focus on his solo career. So only in three they releases second successful album Continuous. In 1991 they released Patience, the first single from the album. Even if Patience was accepted well in the clubs, it didn't get to the charts. Because of the debt of the record company and because of the lack of success of their latest releases Celebrate The Nun finished at the end of 1991. H.P. and Rick stayed in contact and in 1993 they formed remix team The Loop! and started making remixes for other artists. In 1994 they launch a project Scooter. They took on H.P.'s cousin Ferris Bueller (born Sören Bühler, 29th September 1971 in Freiburg, Germany) and asked also Slin, if he wants to join them, but he refused. Under the name Scooter they released single Vallée De Larmes and Hyper Hyper. These two singles were the foundation stone for their worldwide, still ongoing success of Scooter... In 1998 Slin Tompson met a songstress Phoen X. (born 30. March 1972 in Hannover, Germany) in one of the Hannover labels. Later they took up Sky Burns and in 1999 they resurrected the band under the new name Celebrate The None. They latest single is called Arthur (Have You Eaten All The Ginger Biscuits). The album was planned to be released in spring 2003. The last arriving member was the first one to leave. He was replaced by Tom K. Harp (born 31st October 1971, grew up in Hannover, Germany). - continuous releases - - meanwhile releases - - unofficial releases - - further remixes -
