PRAGUE '08
PRAGUE '08 Another concert in Prague after years of waiting was in one word more that we all expected, brilliant. The Love Gangsters support act was a bit weird, guitar, drums, a woman-like looking singer wearing tons of make-up is not really anything Scooter fans could like. Far away from the quality of Kook. Feat. Roxxy Bione or even much better The Potbelleez, they didn't play for so long at least. Now the time has come. The hall went dark and tunes of wonderful Carmina Burana started alongside laser beams cutting through the air and the sky high flames. Rick and Michael entered the stage and people in the hall went mad. Followed with H.P. they literally launched Call Me Mañana, sparks, flames, explosions, pure madness! However, this madness was about to come to an end. The special effects lights went off and one could hardly see guys on stage even from the front row. Anyway, it was nice variegation especially after Jumping All Over The World tracks, which was, by the way, highly overbassed, started shouting: " Where is the light, we need the lights, light out, no light in Praha" etc. :-) He also changed Jumping All Over The World lyrics and stated "...and back to the Czech republic" instead of common "...and back to Germany." The light was fixed with no break to take, no chance to slow down. Hammer after hammer, jumpers, dancers and Scooter guys freaking out, H.P. jumping, Rick running out of his keyboards post pushing Michael to show us his bare arse... he did not actually. During Fuck The Millennium H.P. was fucking the speakers shouting "I wanna fuck...", before How Much Is The Fish? he wanted us to sing the refrain without telling us what refrain: "I want you to sing together. I said, I want you to sing together... Ah, you don't know what to sing!" :-) Absolutely awesome! From the very beginning to the very end, when H.P. went towards the edge of the stage during One (Always Hardcore) and the speakers below his collapsed. Luckily, he did not fall, he ... the speakers down on the ground, more and more as the security guys were giving the speakers back up to him. There was no time to chill. Rick was looking toward the crowd, pointing and waving at fans, Michael was throwing bottle with water and towels with sweat to the fans, pouring Rick with a water. At one moment Rick even went down the stage to greet fans in the first row! Wow! There's noting more to say, the power, the energy, fresh and loud music, H.P., Rick and Michael. Who has never been to the Scooter concert could have never understand.
PRAGUE '08
PRAGUE '08 Yes! A great chance to go backstage after the show was offered to us, wicked! Read on if you are curious how it was! About 15 of us was allowed to enter backstage room where Scooter were hidden. The room was actually a bit small so a little chaos raised. The room was pretty dark with the music playing (btw, they used Boehringer VMX 300 mixer), H.P., Rick and Michael were ready yet to greet the fans, winners and other people present. The fourth Scooter member Jens Thele was here too, so I had a unique chance to meet him and ask him for a photo. I have to admit he is really sympathetic, another great Scooter guy. The most photographed guy, H.P., was in great mood. I asked him if he was alright after the speakers have collapsed below him... he was, he even seemed to have forgotten about that situation. He agreed with taking the photos and I also asked him about some lyrics. It was strange feeling to listen to lyrics acapella directly from H.P., not from any CD. So, in single version of Jumping All Over The World he sings "...see you down in One Eyes Jacks", which is a night club from Twin Peaks. A have also asked about the last line in Jump That Rock, that "...we need something now...", but I forgot what he said. Michael told me he didn't know when they'll come again, it was difficult for him to know as there are one day here, another day there are there. So I tried a question about the new single, unfortunately, the single is not ready yet with no released date set. The best moment of the meeting was when Rick told us he remembered us and asked us (me and my girlfriend) what our names were. Oh my, Rick the greatest! However, it was time to leave. Luckily I was able to stop Sascha the bodyguard from forcing us out by asking if we had a time for some autographs. Whole meeting was really short, I'd say about 10 - 15 minutes, but it's just my guess as there were mess. Leaving Scooter behind we tried the next door where dancers and jumpers room was. A huge guy opened the door scaring us a bit. But he turned to be another cool guy who allowed us to enter the room. Both dancers, Kevin, Sergej and 2 more people were in. Sheffield Jumpers are really cool, they were open to chat with us, allowed us to take the photos and even I tried to jump along with Kevin. Well, he's a really master of the jump. It was great fun, also one of the dancers joined us, really, just a great fun. They even didn't want us to leave, gave us a Kamikaze drink which they didn't like, simply outstanding, outstanding, massive!
PRAGUE '08
PRAGUE '08 Also this year's afterparty took place in the Duplex club. Unfortunately, it lasted only about 30 minutes. Scooter downed anything liquid nearby and left. Sheffield Jumpers Kevin and Sergej stayed a bit longer, so we had another chance to chat, Sergej also offered a beer and a Red Bull to us. As the VIP zone was nearly empty, we could enter the places Scooter were, meaning use the sofas they used etc. What an experience ;-) However, Sheffield guys apologized and left the place too as they had to wake up at 4 AM. Anyway, they are pretty cool, great to meet them.
