WE LIKE IT LOUD TOUR '04 DIARY - 07-07-2004, vaz, st. pölten -
Hey everyone! In February we wanted to play a gig in Vienna, because of our We Like It Loud Tour '04. But short before the gig, we got to know, that the venue is too small for us. So we had to find a new date and a new location. Last weekend, the concert finally took place. In St. Pölten, a city near Vienna, 2.500 fans waited for us. Fantastic. Even people from England, Hungary and Germany were there. And so, the atmosphere was absolutely crazy. After the concert, we went to Vienna for the after show party. And even there, we celebrated till the early morning... WE LIKE IT LOUD TOUR '04 DIARY- 24-02-2004, docks, hamburg - That was the We Like It Loud tour. Seldom we had so much fun, seldom we had such a professional and there were never ever before so many people on a Scooter tour before! Big respect to the fans, especially to those who had been on nearly every concert and traveled along to support us! You all motivated us very much! IT HAS BEEN WICKED!!! H.P., Rick and Jay... WE LIKE IT LOUD TOUR '04 DIARY- 23-02-2004, docks, hamburg -
But on top of that the two Hamburg concerts were giving us the rest in a positive way! It's been "full house" and we were giving 1 platinum and 9 (!) golden records from Scandinavia and Germany. The after show party was kicking all our expectations! The party was going on like hell until 5:00 AM in the morning... WE LIKE IT LOUD TOUR '04 DIARY- 22-02-2004, alter schlachthof, dresden -
In Dresden it was insane, great show... WE LIKE IT LOUD TOUR '04 DIARY- 21-02-2004, alladin, bremen -
The stage in Alladin in Bremen is a bit smaller, but the hall was filled up to the last space... WE LIKE IT LOUD TOUR '04 DIARY- 20-02-2004, westfallenhalle, dortmund -
Well, let's get to the final update in the diary. - 17-02-2004, orpheum, graz -
In Graz there was a small location with a capacity of 1000 people, a lot smaller than we played in other locations before. But for the atmosphere it was quite good! And it was nice to be loud as usual after the concert in Zurich! Really good party, it was good fun! Now we have two days off before we start for the final attack!!!! WE LIKE IT LOUD TOUR '04 DIARY- 15-02-2004, volkshaus, zürich -
Packed hall in Zurich! But there was a problem: The limited volume permission in Switzerland, max 93dBA, so that we needed a special permission to play with 100 dBA ! That was louder than they are used to in Switzerland, but even though we had the feeling it was low volume. But the crowd was tough and the atmosphere was best! WE LIKE IT LOUD TOUR '04 DIARY- 14-02-2004, stadthalle, memmingen -
After the day off in Hamburg we flew with Lufthansa over Stuttgart to Memmingen. This time we had no hotel room, because we wanted to get to Zurich right after the show. In Zurich Jay found finally some time to do a mix of the newest club tracks on the Starsplash turntables! WE LIKE IT LOUD TOUR '04 DIARY- 12-02-2004, theaterhaus, stuttgart -
It's been hard to get from Düsseldorf to Stuttgart right in time. It was only possible because of the high-speed skills of Sascha that we managed to get there in round about 3 hours! Packed hall, stuffed with people in extremely good mood, mega!! Highlight of the night was a fan from Norway, he came all the way to Stuttgart to show us his Scooter-tattoo! WE LIKE IT LOUD TOUR '04 DIARY- 11-02-2004, tor 3, düsseldorf -
The location Tor 3 is a bit strange though. The backstage area is right on the opposite side of the stage, not right behind it where it's usually located. The only way to get to the stage is a small pipe route right above the heads of the ordinances. Furthermore you always had to be careful not to knock your own head everywhere! The performance was good though, beside that the microphone didn't work properly first. It's been quite hot again, but fortunately that was nothing in comparison with the brutal heat in Cologne the night before! After the concert there was waiting a surprise for us: Our Dutch record company Digidance was waiting for us! They came with the whole crew and we had a good party with for hours in the backstage! WE LIKE IT LOUD TOUR '04 DIARY- 10-02-2004, lmh, köln -
In Cologne you could cut the air! It's been so hot and especially damp, so that our tour digital camera was misted up all night long. That's why we don't have any good pictures as you can see. The posse in the stuffed up Live Music Hall was wicked though! They gave their best on every song and fought till the end! I think it's seldom that there is far to less oxygen on concerts than it was in Cologne... WE LIKE IT LOUD TOUR '04 DIARY- 09-02-2004, hugenottenhalle, neu isenburg -
On 8th February we had our "Bergfest" (traditional party). It's always a tradition on tour, where the whole road crew celebrates the half time of the tour. On the castle "Schloss Auerbach" in Odenwald (forest) we had a medieval meal with "met" (traditional food), turkey, minnesingers, court jester etc. a really outstanding party it was! The day after Jay and myself went to a really long wine-tasting (cheers!!) and refilled our stock with the fine wine. In the evening we rocked the 'Hugenottenhalle' in Neu Isenburg, which was fantastic also!!! WE LIKE IT LOUD TOUR '04 DIARY- 07-02-2004, frankfurter hof, mainz -
We forgot our camera at the hotel room, but fortunately Thomas Walter provided his pictures of the show to us spontaneously! Many thanks again! Also to the fans, you were superb! WE LIKE IT LOUD TOUR '04 DIARY- 06-02-2004, capitol, mannheim -
After the day off in Hamburg we flew by plane to Frankfurt and had to change there to get to Mannheim. Home feelings came up to Jay here, because he used to be a DJ and remixer in this scene or area before he became a member of our band. The show was again dominated by the heat which was nearly unbearable. The question "How Much Is The Fish?" was answered by our regular guests in the first row by the counter-question "How big can a fish actually be?". Therefore we took a picture with them. WE LIKE IT LOUD TOUR '04 DIARY- 04-02-2004, ringlokschuppen, bielefeld -
After a long visit in the car city 'VW Autostadt' of Wolfsburg which is a huge theme park focusing on cars, we were off to Bielefeld where we had our next gig. A heavily partying crowd was waiting for us! At the end of our main-set, we came up with the surprise we had promised. Nikk, our 'resident - singer' and my wife, came up on stage and sang her vocal part of Jigga Jigga! live into the mic. She will also support us on the European Song Contest 'Grand Prix'. Nikk usually performs with us only in the studio, so we wanted to test how it works out live on stage with us. Today we have an offday in Hamburg and tomorrow we will perform in Mannheim! Respect! Party on! WE LIKE IT LOUD TOUR '04 DIARY- 03-02-2004, kongress park, wolfsburg -
Our tour is called We Like It Loud and it's always quite loud on our gigs :-) This is noticeable on H.P.'s vocal cords, as you might have noticed on the TV Show "TV Total". In this case H.P. had huge problems before the show in Wolfsburg started and we feared the worst! But H.P. got better and we were able to perform as usual. After the gig H.P. had to drink some tea with honey and got to bed right after that. Next morning he was fit as usual again, even more so! P.S. This evening there will be a little surprise... WE LIKE IT LOUD TOUR '04 DIARY- 31-01-2004, stadthalle, magdeburg -
Actually I would like to write about mishaps, trouble among the crew or something similar. But on this tour the whole crew starting with the tour managers, technicians to the cook are in best mood and everything works out very good. The show in the evening was superb, nearly 2000 people were there and I think that everybody enjoyed themselves. After the show we got directly to Düsseldorf into a club, where we had some party at night. On the way to Düsseldorf it was quite stormy outside, so we nearly took off by car! Today we will pop into the TV Show "TV Total" and after that we will go off to Wolfsburg! Hasta mañana, see ya! WE LIKE IT LOUD TOUR '04 DIARY- 30-01-2004, haus auensee, leipzig -
Traffic jam in and all around Leipzig: While we tried to get from Berlin and Hamburg to Leipzig there was already a 150 m queue in front of the location "Haus Auensee". That's why the show started half an hour later. We didn't know that the atmosphere can be topped anymore by the ordinances, but the posse in Leipzig was really great and the unexpected happened, the atmosphere was topped!! After the gig Jay had the chance to practice his Japanese, because three of our Japanese record company came up to our concert while their European journey. Domo aregato, Akikosan & Co!!! WE LIKE IT LOUD TOUR '04 DIARY- 28-01-2004, columbiahalle, berlin -
Berlin used to be always a highlight on our tours. So it was this time! We appeared in front of 3000 people and it was awesome! By now we are already used to it, but the atmosphere was just gorgeous this time! It's was an unforgettable evening! Just after the show Jay and myself got back to Hamburg, right into the blizzard, while H.P., Jens Thele and some friends were having a good one at the hotel bar. Cheers! Jens Thele came up to Berlin for only this evening to have some party there. Rick is short in time and let you know the Berlin concert was great, he will put his article online tomorrow! The Columbia Halle was nearly packed and a lot of things happened! Rick will tell you tomorrow! WE LIKE IT LOUD TOUR '04 DIARY- 27-01-2004, stadthalle, cottbus -
On the road... What I remember most of Cottbus are the railways! We did a huge detour from Hannover to Cottbus over Berlin. Because H.P. really wanted to stay at his best hotel in Berlin. I mean, he was right, it was worth it, but extremely exhausting though. The backstage techniques got half way broken, so we had more bass on the show than before ;-) Nevertheless everything else was perfect in Cottbus, even the last rows of the stand they were going nuts on the music! Yeah! Tonight we play in Berlin, see you there! WE LIKE IT LOUD TOUR '04 DIARY- 26-01-2004, capitol, hannover -
After a relaxing day off in Hannover, it came up to the next concert in Hannover @ Capitol. As you might know, Hannover is my home town where at the early 90 ties a huge crowd of ravers were living. To name some important places "Weltspiele", "Hanomag" and very many English ravers were living there. It used to be an important pool for inspiration and set the baseground for our music. For the 8th time I played on Capitol - the first time is about 18 years ago. But I can't remember whenever the plaster came down from the ceiling! (note the pics in the gallery) I guess our new P.A. must be the reason for that. A big sorry to all the people waiting outside the location and couldn't get in. But the location is only meant for 2000 people - and it was packed already. Security goes first, sorry! Starsplash is not only a great support act, they also look after the audience! Franky Tunes gave water to the people in the first rows throughout the hole show. Good mate, he is! The show itself: What can I say?! The atmosphere was cooking and the Hannover posse showed one more time, that they've got still the same power than they had 10 years ago. After the concert we had a huge reunion with old friends from Hannover at some bar. Great evening! WE LIKE IT LOUD TOUR '04 DIARY- 24-01-2004, stadthalle, bad blankenburg -
We got from Karlsruhe to Erfurt by a private jet (Beech King Air 200) and from Erfurt to our hotel in Weimar by car. Jay left already by car together with the tour manager Olaf and his assistant Sascha. Taking a Private-Jet is really comfortable: Suitcases into the storing room, close it down off you go! Furthermore we could control what the pilot was doing! ;-) and the view on the landscape was gorgeous!!! On the way up to the venue we had big problems by the upcoming fog and snow on the road, so that we were a little late on stage... but the atmosphere wasn't infected by that. Just the opposite was the case! The Bad Blankenburg location was stuffed and the atmosphere was cooking! Thank you... WE LIKE IT LOUD TOUR '04 DIARY- 23-01-2004, fest halle, durlach -
While traveling from Nürnberg to Karlsruhe was awesome weather:
sunshine, snow cove999999 fields and nevertheless vacant roads. The
hotel rooms were ok again, beside the Mini bar could have had more
variety in it! At the sold out gig-location in Durlach were waiting a six-man team of Radio Sunshine Live already (including the "Klubbingman" Tommy Schlee waiting for us for an interview and having a big party with us! The show itself was quite hard for us and the crowd, it really got us on our physical borders.. You could cut the air and it felt like 80 degrees Celsius! (Furthermore there were the spotlights on stage! This was insane! On this point I like to give a big respect to the audience, you were really good and gave your best till the end! You'd been really great! WE LIKE IT LOUD TOUR '04 DIARY- 21-01-2004, löwensaal, nürnberg -
Jay has so many memories of the location in Nürnberg (Löwensaal), because his second time with us on stage was here. That was on the last tour when Axel had was badly ill with flu at the hospital in Munich. Jay did spontaneously Axel's job on stage. The backstage-area is one of the most chilly ones I know! But in contrary to that our hospital was crap. They tried to be noble, but it was just looking like a cheesy 70-ties style hotel and the rooms were awful! So, my laptop works again and this time I've got Norton Antivirus, Zone Alarm etc.! In future you'll get the pictures and words just in time again, sorry again! See you tomorrow! WE LIKE IT LOUD TOUR '04 DIARY- 20-01-2004, zenith lillienhalle, münchen -
There were just to many tickets sold in Munich, that the concert had to be switched from the Elserhallen to the Zenith! Even there it was quite packed. Cool... About midday we had a TV-Show which was recorded (A new Chartshow on Pro 7 / German TV channel). Furthermore the heaps of interview appointments... on the whole it was a bit stressful. But in the evening on stage it was all done and forgotten. Whatever the Media writes about Techno or Dance, the posse in Munich showed us, that there is a huge acceptance for this music in Germany and that it will still go on. It was wicked! Tour is busy, busy! Rick likes to tell you, that he wasn't able to write the tour diary today. After the third concert in follow, it turns out, it's all a bit stress. There are still loads of things to do for the show tonight in Nürnberg. Best wishes from the band to you! You're the greatest! Promise: Tomorrow you'll find the article and pictures of Munich as well of the concert in Durlach tonight! WE LIKE IT LOUD TOUR '04 DIARY- 19-01-2004, spectrum, augsburg -
The team was really surprised - well done! Since yesterday Andreas 'Sergeant' Mulder is part of the crew in his function as our artist career and co-security again. Mulder was already part of the crew on the last tour. Since then you can hear H.P. shouting "Muuuuuldaaaaa!!!!" about 100 times a day. - There are some things which never change, aren't there? Mulder looks after the band and makes tour-life easy as possible for us... After I could see, that the pictures we have taken yesterday weren't in a good quality, I bought myself a very good camera which is able to make pictures of 5 megapixel and the pictures will be from now on much better than before! Jay still tries to repair his accumulator of his weak and old 333 MHz (!!!) Laptop (stone age??). Let's get back to the concert in the evening: The atmosphere in the sold out 'Spectrum' was awesome! It it was already when special guest Starsplash were on stage... The stage was a bit to small for all the equipment, but the technicians had done a great job instructing everything was needed for the show. It's been a really good time on stage! Thank you to Augsburg! See you tonight in Munich... WE LIKE IT LOUD TOUR '04 DIARY- 17-01-2004, elsrehalle, morbach -
Hi, folks! Here we go! Kick-off for the longest SCOOTER-tour through out Germany including 27 shows with more than 20 tracks to be performed. Jay and me (Rick) just finished programming some sounds and samples in the afternoon, and after the rehearsals together with H.P. and the dancers Tham and Maria everything seems to be sorted out! For sure, we were badly nervous as we entered the stage shortly after 9 pm.! 'Starsplash', our support-act from Germany, had already pushed up the crowd for more than one hour and now we were about to see, if our set would rock as planned and our preparation would succeed. What happened next was like heaven for every musician: All hands went up right from the start and never seemed to come down again till the end of the show! Hell, making music is the damned best thing in life!! After we left stage, about 11 pm, we knew that this tour is going to be not only the longest but also the greatest in our history. Tomorrow we are traveling to 'Augsburg' where on Monday the next show takes place. See ya and take care! |
